I am a postdoctoral researcher at LIACS, Leiden University, working on the XAIPRE project on explainable AI for predictive maintenance.
My research focuses on optimization and automated algorithm design, with an emphasis on discrete and combinatorial optimization. I am particularly interested in understanding the behavior of iterative heuristics and their search trajectories across different optimization landscapes. By leveraging these insights, I aim to develop methods that can automatically adapt, configure, and design algorithms for specific problem characteristics, ultimately enabling more reliable and explainable automated algorithm design.
My work involves toptics including algorithm configuration, LLM-driven algorithm design, benchmarking, and evolutionary computation, with a particular focus on addressing challenges in high-dimensional black-box optimization and combinatorial optimization.
